Micah Brown embarked on a full-time music career in the summer of 2010. Since then, he has accrued an impressive resume that includes: three critically-acclaimed releases, multiple music award nods (taking home three Orange County Music Awards), countless North American tour dates and festival appearances, and a full catalog of songwriting and performance credits from his day-job at 17th Street Recording Studio.

Brown’s original music derives from the blues, rock-n-roll, and outlaw country that drenched the garage while turning wrenches with his dad growing up. His soulful debut EP Down Like Hail was boosted by his first music video for the standout track Finally Free, establishing himself early on as a true professional.

Micah’s sophomore effort The Isle of Her received multiple “Album of the Year” nominations following its August 2012 release, which elaborated on more of his musical influences. Tapping into his Southern California upbringing, the addition of reggae and surf overtones quickly garnered Brown an underground following of passionate, grass-roots fans. The album also debuted at number 20 on iTunes’ Singer-Songwriter chart.

Throughout his journey, Micah has had the enormous honor of performing with a variety of renowned artists. He joined the DIRTY HEADS on guitar for numerous appearances in 2012, including the KROQ Weenie Roast and SmokeOut Festival, alongside bands such as Coldplay, Incubus, Pennywise, The Offspring, and Sublime with Rome. Retracing Micah’s solo career will incite blissful highlights such as performances at Doheny Days Festival, South by Southwest, and California Roots Festival, on billings with Weezer, Ben Harper, Ziggy Marley, CAKE, Donavon Frankenreiter, G. Love, SOJA, and many more.

“Micah Brown is an avid player in putting Orange County on the map as an acclaimed music haven. He is a singer-songwriter who never disappoints with his unique approach to folk and blues.” (Ben Kashuk, unEARTH Music Hub)

Brown’s solo acoustic performances have helped him stand out in a sea of singer-songwriters, while his full band has evolved into a musical force on stage, which features platinum-award-winning engineer/producer Lewis Richards and champion professional surfer/violinist Jennifer Argenti, among a cast of other talented players.

Micah also joined Santa Barbara-based alternative reggae group IRATION in June of 2013 as a full-time touring guitarist/backing vocalist. Memorable moments from this past summer include shows with Steel Pulse at the OC Fair and The Descendents at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

Capping off his busiest year on the road yet, Brown had just enough time to squeeze in one release, Gambles & Prospects, which is available exclusively on blue-swirl vinyl through Creme Tangerine Records. It features two brand-new songs, a trend that Micah plans to continue, via a string of new singles set to release throughout the Spring of 2014.
